Installation Steps
Download the installer: A technician will provide you with a unique URL to download the ScreenConnect client, usually as a
.pkgfile.Open the installer: Locate the downloaded file in your Downloads folder and open it. Because the file is from an "unidentified developer," you may need to Control-Click the file and select Open from the context menu to bypass the security warning.
Run the installation wizard: Follow the on-screen prompts to install the software. You will likely need to enter your Mac's administrator username and password.
Configure Permissions: After the installation, a pop-up window will appear asking for permissions. You will need to manually grant the ScreenConnect client access to Screen Recording and Accessibility in your Mac's Privacy & Security settings.
Click Open System Settings from the prompt.
Navigate to Privacy & Security.
Select Screen & System Audio Recording and toggle on the switch for the ScreenConnect client.
Go back to Privacy & Security and select Accessibility. Toggle on the switch for the ScreenConnect client here as well.
You may be prompted to enter your password again to confirm these changes.
Once you have granted these permissions, the technician should be able to see and control your screen.
